What is the point of Blue Dog Democrats running in the Democratic party?
They are pro life, pro gun, against gay marriage and less government spending and darn nuisance to the rest of the party
So why even run as a democrat because they are clearly not even close being what democratic views are

thank god for them.it proves they vote the way people want.
If they are in the majority they get better seats on committees. Also most are not supporting all of those things, most are mixed somewhere.
The same reason half the Democrats run with the Democratic party…they want minority votes.
My grandma is wonderful lady, god bless her, but she’ll vote for a Democrat without knowing a single thing about the candidate. Democrat politicians count on this blind faith to get the majority of their votes.

Democrats love them, in my opinion. When a Blue Dog is elected they say hey we won, another Democrat picked. They don’t care if they are a DINO. I love it though. I love it when they act like little kids who won the school 100 yd dash.
That’s the way Democrats used to be before extreme liberal anti-theists ran over the party during the 70’s.

I’m thankful for blue dog dems because unlike most extreme liberals, they won’t be the ones trying to do away with religion in this country, they aren’t going to condone abortion for everything and anything, and understand that the government has to provide some services for those in need.
You also have to remember, the political parties have been shifting their platforms for many decades. I think I’ll live long enough to see Democrats embrace a more pro-life stance regarding abortion with less support for embryonic stem cell research.
Not to mention, blue dog democrats are able to appeal to voters who often feel conflicted in their stances politically and morally. For instance, blue dog democrats appeal to southeast Asians, Catholics, Muslims, etc.

They’re liberal extremists, same as every other elected Democrat.
Since they ran in relatively American districts, they have to put on a show of appearing to be Americans whenever their constituents notice what they’re doing.
Find a record of ANY vote that didn’t get public attention and you will find the so-called “blue-dogs” are at least 96% Democrat-pure.
This is the type of attitude that extremists on both sides have.
The fact is, those blue dogs represent a lot of Dem’s. There IS such a thing as a fiscal conservative, socially liberal person.
It creates balance in the party.
Just like the GOP tends to be hi jacked by the right wing, Dem’s can be hi jacked by the left wing.
