Why Are Democrats Trying To Change The Subject About What Obama Said By Bashing Joe The Plumber?

Obama siad “We need to spread the wealth around”. This is socialism and proof that Obama is Socialist. This shows that a vote for Obama is a vote for Socialism. Shouldn’t democrats admit that Socialism is what they really want rather than changing the subject.

Since when is telling the truth a bash? This isn’t socialism and the truth is that ALL taxation is “spreading the wealth around,” INCLUDING McCain’s policy. Socialists don’t like Obama. I know a socialist. She will vote for Nader. She sees Obama as more of the same just like McCain.
Joe the Plumber isn’t really a licensed plumber, nor is his ability to buy a plumbing business where he’d make $250,000 a year anything more than a pipe dream no matter who is President (pipe dream, plumber… that’s fitting!) but I’d like to play in his fictional world for a little while.
    I’m Joe the Plumber, and I just bought a plumbing business. I’m worth $250,000 a year… at least, I think I am.
    Scenerio 1:
John McCain is President, who arguably may give us more of the same, more of the Bush policies.
I open my plumbing business, and I hire some employees. That’s nearly impossible because of the John McCain/George Bush economy, but I created my fictional paradise where I make $250,000 a year, so I’m sticking to it.
I make $250,000 a year, and I get the same tax cut I got under Bush. But my employees — I have to pay for my employees health care, and the cost just skyrocketed because McCain is going to tax my employee’s health benefits! It’s a shame, because that means I’m going to have to lay off Frank, a great employee and a terrific worker, but he has diabetes, and he’s just too expensive to insure.
The economy isn’t so great. As time goes on, I realize I’m not actually making $250,000 a year, but that’s okay, because McCain gave me a tax break.
But now, I’m getting fewer and fewer phone calls because people are just letting their leaky faucets and their drippy showers go. See, the average guy didn’t get as much of a tax break from McCain, so now, my customers, who don’t make nearly $250,000, can’t afford my services. I have to lay off a few more of my people. I feel bad about that, until a phone call makes me feel worse: my former employee Frank lost his kidneys due to untreated diabetes. He’ll need dialysis for life.
    Switch scenes. Obama is President.
He raised my taxes, and I’m pretty mad about that. I was making $250,000 a year, but after a $2,000 tax increase, I’m making $248,000 a year. Can I live and run my business on $248,000 a year?
Well, Obama did cut the costs of health insurance for my employees, so I actually have a lesser burden there, and Frank can get that diabetes treatment at a cheaper cost. I’m grateful, because he’s a good worker. I want to keep his health strong! I actually have more money now thanks to my decreased cost of paying for my employees health care, so I can actually give them a small raise, well deserved. Besides, another new plumbing business opened up down the road and I don’t want them stealing Frank. Those headhunters are sharks!
Now, I’ve noticed that my phone is ringing off the hook. May be it’s the tax breaks that all my customers are fixing their leaky faucets and their broken pipes using the tax break check Obama just sent them. I only wish he hadn’t raised my tax… but, hey, I’m too busy to care about that.. I’m making money… I think this year I might actually make $300,000 instead of $250,000, with all the repairs I’m making, (darn, I might have to pay $2,500 in extra taxes, bringing me down to $297,500!) because all the people who are customers of mine and who got their tax check from Obama.
Poor Joe the Plumber. Obama raised his taxes. Spread the wealth around. What a bad thing!

Q: Why are democrats trying to change the subject about what Obama said by bashing Joe the Plumber?
A: What is the question? If the question is why does Obama want to increase taxes people earning $250,000 or more, it is because these are the same people who most benefited from Bush’s tax cuts over the last 8 years.
Q: Is Obama “We need to spread the wealth around” a socialist?
A: If the wealthy can get a tax cut, why can’t the wealthy get a tax increase? Do taxes always have to go down and not up for the wealthy? Don’t the wealthy in America enjoy far more freedoms and privileges than the rest of Americans? Why shouldn’t the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes? Are wealthy Americans better than everyone else? Should greed be rewarded with more greed?

Joe the plumber may have tax problems, but I bet that with most people you could dig into their records and find something to make them seem like they should be discredited. Even you anyone here may have some public record you don’t want people to know and that they don’t really need to know.
Disturbing, to think that the founding fathers would be dismayed at the idea of forcing people to pay their hard earned and well deserved money to those that have chosen to not try their hardest and earn the money. Especially considering the circumstances of the American revolution, for which we now have the opportunity to discuss this. Traditionally the majority has always wanted to earn the money they get, its within the last 60 to 70 years that it has changed to people who are not ashamed to take free cash FROM THE GOVERNMENT. During the great depression the government made jobs for those who needed or wanted them, so they would feel like they were earning it not just being given it, with a possible likelihood of not paying it back. We have become a civilization of people who buy things we don’t need, with money we don’t have, to impress people we don’t know.
Leave Joe Alone his question was simple and Obama answered it. Don’t complain about the person who asked the question if you don’t like the candidates answer.
Hayek argued that the social control over distribution of wealth and private property advocated by socialists cannot be achieved without reduced prosperity for the general populace, and a loss of political and economic freedoms.

If Obama get selected and you have a good income , Obama willtake more from you and give it to lower income households. If you own a company with revenues above $250,000, you will pay more and the fines get into play. So slow the sales to stay below the limit. Stay small. The incentive to get rich is gone. Obama will keep us all poor. Share the wealth means take from the rich and give it to the poor or waste it as usual with federal programs..

Hey Retard listen, why are you and other people acting like spreading the Wealth around is a bad thing? The richest 1% of Americans make more money than the bottom 50% of all Americans, that is a PROBLEM and we are one of the only countries that has our wealth so screwed up. If you take one look at any socialist society right now they are all A CRAP LOAD better off than the United States is (government wise, health care, policy, regulations, laws)
People like you need to do research and stop posting because you saw something the media stated and now you think your intelligent.

I think that it’s going to be what it is. They won’t call it socialism though and peeps won’t be afraid of the change either. The country taking over the banks have already set changes in motion and there is no going back. We will adapt to these new set of terms and conditions, but for the people’s benefit now.

Because they can’t face the facts so they try to change the subject. Which is who cares who Joe is the fact remains that Osama said……..”We need to spread the wealth around” which is basically saying I’m going to take your hard earned money and give it away.
Some of the poisoned kool aid must be wearing off as Osama is sinking in the polls.

I love how you repubs are jumping on the dems. for giving Joe his 15 mins. (which he seems to be enjoying by the way) when McCain was the one that made him an issue in the first place. All Obama did was answer the guy’s question, and he gave him a very clear, direct, explanatory answer. The video was like 9 mins. long, but all FOX showed you was “spread the wealth”.

  9. Posted by Bandit on February 27th, 2010 at 11:49 pm

If you are referring to the GOP plant “Joe”, that’s a good one.
I spent my entire life in construction learning my trade from my father and grandfather, If that Joe was a real plumber I am King of Egypt. What a phony ! I seriously doubt he knows the difference between an “angle stop” and a “closet auger”. Only an idiot or professional businessman would purchase a construction business. You get a license and start doing work. DUH. But you do need to know how to actually DO the work. This was a sham from the get go. It really surprised me how many dummies fell for it. ROFLMAO

Actually, they should because those who support Obama will support any philosophy he has because they don’t have any of their own. I’m sure you have observed that there are a number of things that democrats don’t discuss – like illegal immigration and gun control for starters….

  11. Posted by mike j on February 28th, 2010 at 5:31 am

Aren’t we already “spreading the wealth around” with the current tax scheme. If you want to be factually correct then you can say obama want’s to spread “More” wealth around. Or else you would have to call both candidates socialists.

This was no slip of the tongue so to speak, this was the Obama man
finally telling someone the truth. He normally guarded on his retorts
to people, He was caught off guard and flipped an answer, and for the
first time in the campaign he actually told the truth.

If the idea of higher taxes for large corporations like Oil companies and the banks that brought us this financial crisis is called Socialism than UK and the rest of Europe is Socialist. In Europe they just call it fairness.

do most important question is : how come media treat McCain like he already lost and manipulate people with all kinds of polls that says Obama “whatever” has way more chances.

  17. Posted by nileslad on March 1st, 2010 at 4:05 am

Damage control. It took an average guy on the street to just ask one simple question to provide what may prove to be the October surprise.
